D’Tigers of Nigeria defeated Tunisia 87-66 in their second game of the 2025 men’s Afrobasket in Angola.

Nigeria consistently dominated the defending champions throughout the game played at the Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda on Friday.

The result was D’Tigers’ second consecutive win in the tournament after defeating Madagascar in their opening match on Wednesday.

The team extended their brilliant form from the previous game to the tie against Tunisia with relative ease.

Nigeria showed their superiority early in their game and were ahead by 29-16 at the end of the first quarter.

D’Tigers resumed their cruise control in the second quarter, and they stretched the lead to 48-33 by halftime.

The blueprint remained the same throughout the third quarter, and Nigeria also out-scored Tunisia, and the scoreline was 68-47 when the buzzer went.

The fourth quarter saw Nigeria slow down a bit, and Tunisia attempted a comeback, but the margin was too steep.

D’Tigers secured a 21-point victory with Josh Okogie, Houston Rockets shooting guard, leading the team with a career-high 33 points.

Nigeria will conclude their group stage fixtures against Cameroon on Sunday.

Nigeria have won the men’s Afrobasket title just once in 2015. D’Tigers have, however, finished as runners-up thrice.
