The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke the winner of Saturday’s governorship election.
The Accord Party candidate secured a decisive victory with 511,067 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.
Returning Officer Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole announced the final result on Sunday following the completion of collation from all 30 local government areas across the state.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished a distant third with 17,180 votes.
Adeleke’s re-election consolidates the Accord Party’s grip on the South-Western state, with official turnout figures and a full breakdown of results expected to be published by INEC in the coming days.
