The party leadership announced the adoption of a consensus approach for the elections. Furthermore, the party has opened its registers to welcome new members effective immediately.

The BOT/NWC invites interested members of the public to join the party. The membership registration exercise will be open from Saturday, 14th March 2026, to Wednesday, 25th March 2026.

According to the statement: “New members are required to register at their respective ward offices and collect their membership cards from the Continuous Membership Registration Committee (CMRC). This exercise is strictly for new members; existing members are not required to renew their membership at this time.

“The Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Working Committee (NWC) have resolved to adopt consensus as the method for electing party executives at all levels.

“This decision is taken in accordance with the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act 2026 (as Amended), in furtherance of its commitment to promoting unity, cohesion, and inclusiveness within the party.

“The BOT/NWC believes that the consensus approach will foster greater cooperation, understanding, and collective leadership, ultimately strengthening the party’s ability to achieve its goals and objectives.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES:
Following the resolution, the party has released the following timetable for the congresses and the National Convention:

According to the timetable, ward congresses will hold on March 19, while local government congresses are slated for March 24. State congresses will follow on March 28.

The party’s national convention is scheduled to take place between April 3 to April 5, 2026.

Issues arising from the various congresses will be addressed in designated windows between the events, with final matters from the national convention expected to be resolved between April 6 to April 10.

Meanwhile, the ADC leadership has disassociated itself from the ongoing electronic membership mobilization, registration, and revalidation exercise being conducted by members of the coalition.

The party clarifies that its constitution outlines specific procedures for membership application.

It urged members and stakeholders to disregard any unofficial registration processes while awaiting the formal rollout of the party’s digital platform.

Adding that, “The official online registration portal will be released in due course, and further announcements will be made through official party channels.”

The BOT and NWC thanked party members and stakeholders for their understanding and continued support as preparations for the congresses and national convention progress.
