Dr. Charles Omole To Speak On ‘Disruptive AI’ At NBA-AGC 2025

Renowned jurist and security policy expert Dr Charles Omole will be among the headline speakers at the 2025 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

In a statement signed and made available to journalists on Tuesday said the week-long event will run from 22 to 30 August in Enugu State.

The statement reads ‘Omole is scheduled to deliver his address on Monday, 25 August, on the topic: “Disruptive Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Nigeria’s Legal Landscape and Judicial Process in the 21st Century.”

“His presentation will explore the transformative impact of AI on Nigeria’s legal systems, national security, and judicial integrity.

“A legal scholar of international repute, Omole earned his PhD in International Law and Security Sector Jurisprudence from the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom.

“He served as a judge in the London Judicial Circuit, first in the Family Court and later in the Crown Court, while also lecturing law students in the UK.

“In Nigeria, Omole was appointed National Security Adviser to the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, playing a key role in reforming security laws and organising the National Assembly’s first National Security Summit in 2021.

“He currently heads the Institute for Police and Security Policy Research, driving innovative policy reforms across Africa’s security sector.

“With over two dozen books to his name, his writings are widely used by police, military and security institutions across the continent.

“His NBA address will focus on the intersection of technology, artificial intelligence, and national security — a theme at the heart of his current research.

“The 2025 conference, themed “Stand Out, Stand Tall”, promises to be a landmark event for Nigeria’s legal profession.”
