As the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative is set to begin, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Sokoto has disclosed that no fewer than 636 youths will be trained on vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills.

The 3 months training which is to be done by the Public Works Sector of the NDE, however requires that interested persons should register online or contact their office in Sokoto for assistance or guidance.

Speaking on the benefits of skills and commencement date for the online registration, Sokoto state NDE acting Coordinator, Lukman Abubakar said, the 3 months skills programme entails over 30 different sets of skills to be learnt, adding applicants should visit the NDE site from 28th July to 11th August, 2015 to register online.

While appealing to unemployed and unskilled youths across the state to take advantage of the opportunity and apply in good time, Lukman, said, the NDE is deeply committed to promoting the massive job creation mandate of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led adminstration through the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI).

“This job creation initiative of the NDE is promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu administration and will provide starts up capital, equipment and working tools at the end of the training while other participants will be linked to credit granting institutions to access loans that will enable them commence medium or large scale businesses”. Lukman enthused.

According to the acting state Coordinator, Lukman,
some of the skills to be learned, include, Digital Skills, poultry, fishery, leather works, fashion design, hardwares and phone repairs, beauty therapy, electrical installation, solar installation, baking and confectionery, carpentry, plumbing, tie and dye, interior decoration, hairdressing amongst others.

On total number of persons to be engaged across the country, the Director General of NDE, His Excellency, Silas Agara said a total of 21,782 unskilled and unemployed  Nigerians will be engaged in the 3 months training.

“In line with the Spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda, the National Directorate of Employment has concluded plans to engage 21,782 unskilled and unemployed persons across the country in the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI) of NDE”.
