In a move that signals increasing competitiveness in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, bringing it down to ₦825 per litre.

This latest adjustment follows closely on the heels of a price cut from ₦865 to ₦835 just weeks ago, marking the second consecutive reduction aimed at making fuel more affordable for Nigerians and strengthening the refinery’s market presence.

Industry analysts perceive the ongoing price reductions as part of Dangote’s broader strategy to provide greater value to both marketers and consumers, particularly as the refinery expands its influence within the domestic fuel supply chain.

The price drop is anticipated to heighten competition among fuel importers and local marketers, with potential ripple effects on pump prices nationwide.
