The Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Peter Tanko, has commended APC youth stakeholder, Hon. Haruna Daniel (Rex) for constructing solar-powered boreholes worth N20 million.
Hon. Tanko gave the commendation on Friday in Kafanchan after commissioning one of the solar boreholes, which includes a 12,000-litre overhead tank, at Federation Community in Maigizo Ward.
Emphasizing the importance of sustainable clean water, which is a key focus of Governor Uba Sani’s administration, Hon. Tanko praised Hon. Haruna Daniel Rex for his commitment to community development. He lauded his dedication of resources, time, and energy in supporting the government’s efforts to alleviate water shortages.
The chairman further assured residents that the local government plans to drill more boreholes to provide clean drinking water in several communities, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda.
“What I have seen today gladdens my heart. Seeing a youth commit his resources to water projects in our local government is commendable. I sincerely thank Haruna Daniel Rex for constructing this solar-powered borehole in Federation Community, Maigizo Ward.
The Uba Sani administration is determined to provide accessible drinking water to rural communities, and Jema’a Local Government is fully committed to achieving this mandate,”* Hon. Tanko stated.
He also encouraged well-meaning APC members to support the government’s developmental initiatives, noting that Southern Kaduna has already embraced the APC.
Government Officials Praise the Initiative
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ado Dogo, the Governor’s Political Affairs Adviser, commended Hon. Haruna Daniel Rex for the laudable project. He noted that the government is eager to collaborate with dedicated party members like him to fulfill campaign promises. He also urged the local government chairman to initiate more infrastructure projects, particularly road construction leading to the community.
Hon. Haruna Daniel Rex: My Motivation is Governor Uba Sani’s Vision
In his remarks, Hon. Haruna Daniel Rex stated that his motivation came from Governor Uba Sani’s developmental strides in the senatorial zone. He described the boreholes as his personal contribution to the APC-led government, aimed at attracting more support for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Our dear governor’s positive impact is my inspiration and motivation for constructing these solar boreholes in Federation and Takau communities. The one in Takau will be completed soon,” he said.
He further emphasized that APC faces no opposition in Southern Kaduna, as the party has fostered a coalition of like-minded individuals due to the fair and inclusive governance style of Governor Uba Sani. He cited the 2025 budget theme, “Rural Transformation and Inclusive Development,” as a testament to the governor’s commitment.
Hon. Haruna Daniel Rex urged residents to support the administration, highlighting the governor’s compassionate leadership and non-divisive approach to politics.
Community and Party Leaders React
The Maigizo Ward APC Chairman, Abednego Yakunat, expressed satisfaction with the borehole project, commending Hon. Haruna Daniel Rex for bringing relief to the Federation and Takau communities.
“With these newly drilled boreholes, you can see the joy on the faces of women and children,” he remarked.
Similarly, community leader Francis Markson described the borehole as a lifeline for the Federation Community, pledging to mobilize youths to protect and maintain the facility.
Federation Community: A Host in Need
Federation Community, which hosts the Jema’a Local Government Secretariat, has suffered severe water shortages for years. The new boreholes are expected to significantly improve living conditions for residents.
