The new Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, has taken over the affairs of the commission from the outgoing Acting Executive Secretary Dr Chris Maiyaki.

Maiyaki handed over to Ribadu Ion Monday in Abuja I’m
at a big event with Former ES of the commission Prof Julius Okojie, members of the staff of the commission and other special guests.

In a handover speech, Maiyaki identified obsolete law as one of the greatest challenges facing the smooth operation of the commission.

On his part, the new Executive Secretary, Prof. Ribadu noted that as regulatory body that oversees Nigeria’s citadels of learning, NUC must look inward to determine the relevance or otherwise it it’s extant laws.

” We will thus revisit the laws that govern our commission and it interactions with other stakeholders with a view to identifying areas of improvement in order to strengthen and reposition it for better service delivery.

He promised to prioritize the training and welfare of the staff believing that investing their professional development and we’ll being will yield maximum productivity.

Professor Abdullahi Ribadu is a Nigerian academic and administrator.
: Professor Ribadu holds a Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Ibadan.

He has served as the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), and the University of Maiduguri.

Professor Ribadu has received several awards for his contributions to education and research.

His research interests include veterinary medicine, animal health, and public health.

Professor Ribadu is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association and the Nigerian Academy of Science.

Professor Abdullahi Ribadu is a respected figure in Nigerian academia, known for his leadership, research, and commitment to education
