The Senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, Ibrahim Lamido has granted scholarship to 100 students from the state to study for their Post and undergraduate programmes in India.
The first batch of the scholarship beneficiaries include 42 male students who are expected to leave the country soon.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Lamido in the event held at Army Officers’ Mess and Suites, Sokoto, his representative, Honourable, Bello Isa Anbarura representing Gwadabawa/Illela federal constituency reiterated that only quality education can bring sane society.
“”During this era of global development, education is the only tool that will assist in achieving the kind of development that our society requires”.
While noting that, the beneficiaries include those of post and undergraduate, Senator Lamido said quality education is the bedrock of a rancor free society, even as appealed to them to be serious, committed to their studies and be good ambassadors of their families, state and Nigeria.

In his welcome address, the chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Kabiru Sarkin Fulani said those fortunate to have gotten the offer should be good ambassadors of their families, Sokoto and Nigeria at large.
According to him, the Senator is leading a spirited struggle to bring sound education to the people of his constituency.
Also speaking at the occasion which was held to present admission letters to all the beneficiaries, both Honourable Sani Yakubu and Prof Muazu Shamaki serving as Guest Speakers appealed to them to reciprocate the gesture by being good ambassadors of the state just like the Senator had pleaded.
