In a revealing testimony, a former dispatch rider, Monday Osazuwa, disclosed in court how he facilitated the collection of $3 million in cash for the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, shedding light on intricate details of the transactions.

Osazuwa, who worked closely with Emefiele during his tenure at Zenith Bank and later at the CBN, recounted how he was entrusted with the task of collecting hefty sums of cash, underscoring the complexity of the operations and the close relationship between the two parties.

During his tenure as Managing Director at Zenith Bank, Emefiele, now under scrutiny, allegedly orchestrated the collection of significant amounts of cash through Osazuwa, revealing a side of the financial institution’s operations that raises questions about accountability and transparency.

Osazuwa’s testimony sheds light on the modus operandi employed in the cash transactions, highlighting the involvement of various parties and the meticulous planning undertaken to ensure the smooth execution of the operations.

The revelation that Emefiele’s co-defendant, Henry Isioma-Omoil, resided in the former CBN governor’s residence adds another layer of complexity to the case, hinting at a close personal relationship between the two individuals and raising further questions about the nature of their association.

Amidst mounting allegations of abuse of office and fraud, Emefiele was granted bail on stringent conditions, underscoring the seriousness of the charges brought against him. The trial date has been set, marking the beginning of what promises to be a protracted legal battle.
