In a momentous occasion for the Nigeria Union of Journalists, we honour the departure of the distinguished leader and servant, Chief Shuaibu Usman Leman, our esteemed National Secretary.

For more than twenty years, he has stood as the cornerstone of our union, imprinting a legacy of excellence and advancement.

Throughout his tenure, Chief Leman’s leadership has steered us through trials and victories, consistently prioritising the welfare of journalists.

Under his guidance, our union has fortified its stance, advocating fervently for the rights and well-being of journalists nationwide.

Chief Leman’s dedication extends beyond his official capacity; he personifies service and altruism.

His fervour for journalism and allegiance to our union have ignited inspiration among us all. His departure leaves behind a heritage of professionalism, honesty, and empathy.

As we transition to a new phase with Mr Achike Chude assuming the mantle of National Secretary, let us not overlook the invaluable contributions of Chief Shuaibu Usman Leman.

His sagacity and counsel will persist as he takes on the role of the Union’s National Consultant, ensuring that his wealth of experience endures among our ranks.

To Chief Leman, we extend our sincerest appreciation for his leadership and camaraderie. May his forthcoming journey be adorned with sustained triumphs and contentment.
