In a significant turn of events, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, has bid farewell to active politics, citing a growing aversion to political activities.
This revelation unfolded during the presentation and launch of ‘Progressive governance: Showcasing the achievements of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State 2019 – 2023,’ a meticulously crafted book penned by Abdullahi Tanimu.
With 230 pages and 23 chapters, the book not only serves as a testament to Governor Abdullahi Sule’s remarkable tenure but also highlights the consolidation and enhancement of his predecessors’ accomplishments.
Adamu, the state’s first civilian governor, urged residents to steadfastly support and pray for the governor and his cabinet, emphasizing the imperative role they play in delivering democratic dividends.
Expressing his withdrawal from active politics, Adamu conveyed, “I am not only a retiree but I am out of politics.
I’m beginning to develop little allergies for political activities now and political speeches.”
Steering clear of political statements, he redirected focus towards garnering support for Governor Sule, pledging to launch 20 copies of Tanimu’s book as a gesture of encouragement.
Senator Aliyu Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, lauded Governor Sule’s efforts in attracting prominent investors such as Dangote, Flour Mill, and Asma Rice to the state.
Anticipating a surge in employment opportunities and revenue generation once these companies commence full operations, Wadada acknowledged the pivotal role they play in the state’s economic landscape.
Governor Sule, in response, acknowledged the author’s recognition of his administration’s contributions to the state’s development and investor appeal.
Revealing plans for extensive infrastructure development, the governor disclosed the initiative to construct 15 kilometers of road in each of the 13 Local Government Areas.
Additionally, he highlighted the government’s commitment to education, having paid counterpart funds for 2023 to the Universal Basic Education Commission for the construction of over 140 schools.
The author, Abdullahi Tanimu, a physically challenged individual, expressed his motivation for the book, driven by Governor Sule’s inclusive leadership style.
Tanimu’s journey involved capturing visual representations of the governor’s impactful projects across the state and engaging with the communities benefiting from these initiatives.
