The Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello officially domesticates the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, heralding a new era of impactful interventions.

The Federal Government’s distribution of N20,000 cash grants aims to empower vulnerable groups, steering them towards economic resilience and mitigating the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Governor Bello, in a commendable stride, announces the establishment of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Kogi State, aligning with President Tinubu’s vision for poverty eradication.

The flag-off ceremony witnesses the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, assuring beneficiaries that the grants are not loans, emphasizing President Tinubu’s commitment to lifting 50 million Nigerians out of poverty.

Dr Edu highlights the grant as a Kickstarter for vulnerable groups, urging recipients in Kogi State to utilize the funds effectively to boost their businesses.

Governor Bello extends gratitude to President Tinubu for his humanitarian efforts, acknowledging the President’s dedication to uplifting the common man.

In a strategic move, Governor Bello announces the creation of the Kogi State Social Investment Agency, reinforcing the state’s commitment to poverty alleviation.

Propelling the initiative further, Governor Bello pledges to transmit a bill for the creation of the Kogi State Social Investment Agency to the House of Assembly, aligning it with the 2024 budget.

The Head of Service and Commissioner for Finance express confidence in President Tinubu’s poverty reduction initiatives, affirming Kogi State’s continual benefit from these impactful programs.
