The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND), has appealed to politicians in Rivers State to sink their differences and unite for the common good of the state.

The group’s appeal followed the recent political crisis involving the executive and legislative arms of the state government, due to plots to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

MOSIEND national president, Kennedy Tonjo West, who spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday, called on the politicans to support Fubara for the development of the state.

West said: “Yes, the crisis will make them understand themselves better and grow stronger politically and chart a positive course to developing the state and the region at large.”

The MOSIEND president, who condemned the burning of some sections of the Rivers State House of Assembly by some faceless politicians and hired youths, called on the aggrieved parties to imbibe the attitude of tolerance, forgiveness and remember that they are in one team to transform Rivers State and Niger Delta region for the good of all.

He said: “We condemned the burning of Rivers State House of Assembly Complex by faceless politicians and hired youths because the complex is built by tax payers.

“To rebuild the complex, it will take huge sums of money from the tax payers money which could have been channeled to other areas of development in the state. Let the tenets of separation of power be respected by all, because that is the spirit of democracy.”
