Our distinguished Chairman, Senator Shehu Sani, will preside over the summit, where the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah, will deliver the Keynote address.

The central theme of the event revolves around “Electoral Accountability & Democratic Stability,” a subject of immense importance in the contemporary political landscape.

Adding to the event’s grandeur is the presence of Hon. Justice K.B. Akaahs OFR, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court, who will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.

His experience and wisdom will undoubtedly contribute to enriching the discussions.

The summit features a high-level panel discussion, with an esteemed panel comprising H.E. Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, Prof. Sam Amadi, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, Nkem Cynthia Agunwa, and Samson Itodo Esq.

They will delve into the crucial subject of election petitions and their significance in ensuring the integrity of democratic processes.

The panel will review the imperative for determining election petitions before swearing-in dates, shedding light on the intricate aspects of electoral accountability.

The House of Justice 2023 Summit will take place in two distinct sessions at the Epitome Events Center in Barnawa, Kaduna.

The summit itself will kick off at 9:00 am and conclude at 1:00 pm. It will be followed by the elegant Burgundy Ball Banquet, commencing with a Red Carpet session at 4:00 pm.

Gloria Mabeiam Ballason Esq, the Host of the event and CEO of House of Justice, has underlined the essence and preparation for this landmark event.

She stated that House of Justice recognizes the concerns of citizens about the challenges faced by democracy in Nigeria and the broader African region.

“The 2023 Summit is not just an event; it is a movement to ensure democratic stability.

The collapse of democracy in Niger, Gabon, Mali, Guinea, or Burkina Faso is not a coincidence; it is the result of citizens failing to demand and insist that democratic institutions work,” she emphasized.

Ballason further elaborated that, despite the complexities in Nigeria’s political landscape, systems do not inherently corrupt themselves.

People can corrupt systems, but there is a silver lining – active citizens who are committed and resilient have the capacity to repair broken systems.

“This is the mission of the Summit this year: To bring together citizens from across the country and region, united in their resolve to put an end to the erosion of our democratic systems and invest in the rebuilding process for a nation and continent that works for us all,” she concluded.

Join us at the House of Justice 2023 Summit, where together, we can make a difference and champion the cause of electoral accountability and democratic stability in Nigeria and beyond.

Let’s stand together to rebuild and strengthen our democratic institutions.
