Naira redesign: Governor Badaru Raise Alarm As Business Cripple In Jigawa

As people continue to spend hours on cues to get new Naira Note in Jigawa state, governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has expressed his concern over the scarcity of the new notes which crippled economic activities in the state.

The governor made the remarks while reacting to the scarcity of the new notes which thrown people into untold hardship in the state.

Governor Badaru who spoke through his commissioner of finance Hon Babangida Umar added that, the CBN policy has field to take cognisant of the local communities in the implementation of this policy.

” The inadequate supply of the new note to Jigawa state is seriously affecting our state economic activities, therefore I am appealing to CBN to without any further delay take all necessary measures to supply enough new note to the commercial banks in the state” Badaru state.

However going round Dutse capital, long cues were observed at all ATM points while POS operators have closed as they have no cash to transact.

A civil servant with Jigawa state Government Mustapha Salisu, Sa’id, he spent over 12 hours on ATM cues to withdraw money for feedings his family after receiving the salary alart.

Hajiya Talat Sani a food vendors also expressed her worried over the low patronage as a result of scarcity of the new notes while the e-transfer is not effective and friendly to rural communities in the state.

” This CBN policy is very disgusted unfriendly and unfair to us rural communities ”

” The new Naira note is not even available, I don’t have it , for three days now I cantt feed my children talkless of paying their daily transportation fair to school , please Baba Buhari we beg you in the name of God to reconsider the extension of the deadline for old Note” Saifullahi stated

It was observed that only ten local government out of 27 in the state have functional Banks in the state, the rural communities are grown in to untold hardship as they lack access to any financial institution for exchanging their old note with new ones.
