A seven-storey uncompleted building has collapsed at Oba Idowu Oniru street, Lekki area of Lagos state.
At least six people were said to have been trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building.
Emergency responders have been deployed to commence rescue exercise.
Confirming the incident, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), said the agency has activated its response plan.
“Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted 7 storey building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
“Six people are reported to be trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed structure.
“The agency’s heavy duty equipment excavator will be required for the rescue of the trapped victims. We have activated Lagos State Response plan.”
Recently, building collapse has become a recurring trend in Lagos.
In May, the collapse of a three-storey building in Ebute-Meta axis of state claimed at least eight lives.
In February, a three-storey building collapsed in the Onike area of Yaba, leading to several casualties.
