Arsenal new signing Garbiel Jesus scored twice as the club defeated Nurnberg 5-3 in a pre-season game on Friday.
The German side took the lead 24 minutes into the eight-goal thriller game as Johannes Geis fired in the first goal.
Five minutes later, Kwadwo Duah doubled Nurnberg’s lead, leaving Arsenal behind into the first half break.
Barely 90 seconds into Arsenal’s debut, Jesus, who was introduced into the game in the second half, fired in Arsenal’s first equaliser, reducing Nurnberg’s lead margin.
Mohamed Elneny followed Jesus to level up for Arsenal, firing in a screamer in the 54th minute that cancelled Nurnberg’s second goal.
Nurnberg fell behind Arsenal as Schindler and Handwerker scored own goals, giving Arsenal the lead.
In the 73rd minute, Lukas Schleimer scored Nurnberg’s third goal but it was not enough to stop Arsenal from winning as Jesus fired in his second goal of his debut for Arsenal, bringing the total score to 5-3 in favour of the Gunners.
