Troops of Operation Fansa Yamma have rescued a 43-year-old kidnap victim in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State and thwarted a terrorist attack in Sokoto State, in separate operations conducted on Friday.
According to a statement by Operation Spokesman Aliyu Danja, troops responded swiftly to a distress call following the abduction of the victim around Awon Community in Kachia. The security forces pursued the terrorists into the surrounding bush, compelling them to abandon their captive and flee.
“The rescued victim was subsequently reunited with his family,” Mr Danja confirmed.
In a separate operation on Friday, troops of Sector 2, in conjunction with local security personnel, responded to a terrorist attack on Kwaren Gamba Village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The troops engaged the assailants and forced them to withdraw in disarray.
During the subsequent pursuit, one terrorist was neutralised, while troops recovered two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card, recharge cards and other items from the scene, Mr Danja added.
