The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, marked his 58th birthday with a ₦25 million donation to orphans and widows in Taraba State.
A delegation from GMCN Orphanage and Christian Care for Widows, led by Hon. Prince Leah Solomon Olusiyi, paid a courtesy visit to the APC chairman to commemorate the occasion. Olusiyi outlined the persistent challenges facing vulnerable women and children, noting that the support initiative, which began in 1999, has steadily expanded over the years.
She called on individuals, government agencies, and private organisations to bolster their contributions to the cause, enabling broader reach to those in need.
In response, Professor Yilwatda pledged ₦10 million to orphans, ₦10 million to widows, and an additional ₦5 million to teachers responsible for the orphans’ care. The donation has been hailed as a timely intervention that underscores the chairman’s commitment to social welfare and the sustained support of vulnerable groups across the state.
