ABUJA – At least 17 members of the House of Representatives have formally defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

The mass defection was announced on the floor of the House during plenary on Tuesday.

In a separate development, lawmaker Leke Abejide also left the ADC to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Further details on the political realignment are expected shortly.
