Abuja Police Begin CNG-Powered Welfare Bus Scheme April 27

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced that its welfare bus scheme will officially launch on April 27 in Abuja.

The initiative, approved by Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, aims to improve personnel welfare and resolve longstanding transportation challenges, according to a statement from FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh.

Under the scheme, three Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses have been deployed along designated routes across the territory and its outskirts.

Route details:

· Bus NPF 7993 D – Goshen, Auta-Balefi axis, via Masaka, Mararaba, and Nyanya, terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters.
· Bus NPF 7994 D – Zuba Divisional Headquarters, via Madalla, Abubakar Police Barracks, Brick City, Kubwa, Dutse Junction, and the Secretariat, terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters.
· Bus NPF 7992 D – Kuje Divisional Headquarters, covering Kuje Police Barracks, Airport Road, Lugbe, and the Stadium axis, terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters.

All buses will depart their respective take-off points daily at 6:15 am.

FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, praised the I-G for the initiative, stating that it demonstrates a clear commitment to improving working conditions, discipline, and overall well-being of police personnel. He urged officers to take full advantage of the scheme, noting that improved welfare directly enhances service delivery and operational efficiency.
