The Nongov Community in Makurdi yesterday declared unanimously a total support for Dr Iorwakwagh Apera’s bid to contest for the Makurdi/Guma House of Representatives.
The decision was reached in Makurdi at the residence of Chief Ayôôsu Bem where all the four Nongov clans comprising Saghev, Nzorov, Kaambe and Abinsi converge to give their blessings to their son.
Dr. Apera, a seasoned development expert who has delivered several large scale national and international sustainable community social developments promised effective representation to the people of the constituency if elected into the House of Representatives in the coming elections in 2027.
He also promised a practical solution representation, economic empowerment for the youths and women, security and stability as well as infrastructural development.
Speaking at the occasion, President of Nongov Community, Hon Benjamin Iwan called for the people of Nongov to embrace unity and political inclusiveness.
He cautioned against politics of conflict and division expressing belief that the candidature Dr Apera for House of Representatives is a bridge to bring Nongov people together for a common cause.
Both speakers from all the Nongov clans as well as some elders who spoke, commended Dr Apera for the bold decision to contest for the House of Representatives, a move they described as timely and needful.
They applauded the candidature of Dr Apera as the darling hope of Nongov people who according to them, even as a major block and a key stakeholder in the composition of the the Makurdi/ Guma Federal Constituency has not had the opportunity of being elected to represent their people.
