The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has commended a chieftain of the party, Yazid Sani Danfulani, for donating Ramadan food items valued at over N300m to vulnerable residents across the state.
The supporters described the gesture as timely, noting that it would cushion the effects of economic hardship on thousands of households during the holy month.
The commendation was conveyed in a statement signed by the group’s Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Hammed, and made available to journalists in Gusau on Thursday.
The party faithful described the intervention as timely, coming amid rising living costs and economic pressure on families observing the holy month.
They said the outreach brought relief to vulnerable residents, including orphans, women and persons living with disabilities.
The distributed items included rice, maize, millet and guinea corn, among other staples aimed at easing the burden of fasting Muslims.
According to the supporters, Danfulani’s gesture reflected responsive leadership and a deep sense of compassion.
“Hon. Yazid has once again shown that he stands with the masses. This support has enabled many families to observe their fast with dignity,” the statement read.
The group prayed for divine reward for the lawmaker, noting that the initiative cut across communities and party lines.
They added that the intervention aligned with broader efforts by APC stakeholders in the state to cushion hardship during Ramadan and strengthen unity.
The supporters urged other leaders and well-meaning individuals to emulate the gesture in order to uplift communities facing difficult times.
Danfulani, they maintained, has continued to earn goodwill for initiatives targeted at improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to promoting welfare, peace and shared prosperity in Zamfara State.
