Zion Flames Ministries has reached out to over 300 widows and orphans in Ayobo, Lagos State, as part of activities marking its fifth anniversary.

The faith-based organisation distributed relief materials, including bags of rice, assorted foodstuffs and clothing, to ease the hardship faced by vulnerable families, particularly during the Christmas season.

Speaking with newsmen at the event, the Senior Pastor of Zion Flames Ministries, Apostle Momo Promise, said the outreach reflected the ministry’s commitment to compassion, service and community development.

He said the anniversary was not only a moment of celebration but also an opportunity to give back to the community that had supported the organisation over the years.

“Our calling is to serve humanity and demonstrate God’s love through practical acts of kindness. Widows and orphans remain among our top priorities,” he said.

The outreach programme formed the centrepiece of the anniversary celebration and was designed to provide immediate relief to beneficiaries amid prevailing economic challenges.

According to the ministry, its humanitarian interventions have continued to expand in scope and impact since its establishment, with programmes focusing on welfare support, prayers, counselling and community engagement.

Beneficiaries at the event expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing the support as timely and encouraging.

One of the recipients, Mrs Ajileye, a widow, said the assistance had brought her relief and renewed hope.

“Zion Flames has put smiles on my face. I thank God because I am a widow who has not been forgotten,” she said.

The ministry also commended its partners, volunteers and supporters for their contributions, noting that their support made the anniversary outreach possible.

It reaffirmed its resolve to sustain and scale up its humanitarian initiatives, stressing that compassion and service would remain central to its operations.

Zion Flames Ministries added that similar outreach programmes had been carried out this year in Uganda and Cameroon, extending its impact beyond Nigeria.

The organisation called on individuals, corporate bodies and well-meaning Nigerians to support its efforts to uplift the needy and promote community development across Lagos State and beyond.
