The Executive Chairman of Zangon-Kataf Local Government Area, Engr. Joseph Bege Gaiya, has congratulated Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State on the conferment of the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement personally signed and made available to Elanzanews on Thursday, Engr. Gaiya described the honour as “timely and richly deserved,” noting that Governor Sani’s unwavering commitment to deepening democratic values and promoting good governance has not gone unnoticed at the national level.
He said, “On behalf of the government and good people of Zangon Kataf Local Government, I heartily congratulate our dynamic and people-focused Governor, Senator Uba Sani, on the well-deserved recognition bestowed on him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The conferment of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) is a tribute to his long-standing sacrifices and contribution to the restoration and strengthening of democracy in Nigeria.”
The local government chairman recalled Governor Sani’s years of pro-democracy activism, particularly during the military era, as a defining chapter in Nigeria’s journey towards civilian rule.
He added, “Your life of service, both as an activist and now as a public office holder, is a testament to resilience, patriotism, and the courage to stand with the people at critical times in history, adding we are proud that Kaduna State is led by a man whose legacy continues to inspire young leaders across the country.”
Gaiya also urged the Governor to remain steadfast in his developmental agenda, assuring him of the continued support and partnership of Zangon Kataf LGA in delivering democratic dividends to the grassroots.
President Tinubu had on Democracy Day June 12 announced the conferment of national honours on several Nigerians, including Governor Sani, for their roles in the restoration of democratic governance in the country.
