The Executive Chairman of Zango-Kataf Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Engr. Joseph Bege Gaiya, has distributed 400 bags of rice and cash gifts to traditional rulers, political party members, widows, and other vulnerable individuals in the community as part of his Christmas outreach.
Speaking during the distribution event at Zonkwa, the council’s headquarters, Gaiya emphasized that the initiative was inspired by the spirit of love and compassion associated with Christmas.
“Christmas is not just a time for merrymaking but a season to show love, especially to the less privileged who may not afford a proper celebration,” Gaiya stated.
He expressed confidence that the distributed items, which included both 25kg and 50kg bags of high-quality rice, would provide the beneficiaries with a sense of inclusion during the festive season.
“This is my way of identifying with my people during these challenging times and letting them know they are not alone,” he added.
The chairman also pledged to prioritize the welfare of the local government’s citizens and employees beyond the Christmas season, reiterating his commitment to fostering a sense of community and support whenever possible.
Gaiya called on residents of Zango-Kataf to continue supporting Governor Uba Sani’s administration to facilitate the delivery of democratic dividends in the state.
Beneficiaries, including widows and other vulnerable community members, expressed their gratitude, offering prayers for Gaiya’s continued success and blessings.
“This gesture has brought smiles to many faces and reminded us of the true essence of Christmas,” said one beneficiary.
