In a statement issued by its Secretary, Muhammad Ibrahim Marafa, the group accused the governor of deliberately inflicting hardship on workers and their families by withholding their entitlements and later dismissing them from service.

“This is not leadership — it is sheer wickedness,” Marafa declared. “How can a governor deny innocent workers their hard-earned salaries for eight months, and instead of showing compassion, choose to throw them into the streets? This is cruelty disguised as governance.”

He lamented that the situation had thrown many households into distress, adding that families were starving while children were forced out of school due to the government’s “heartless policies.”

“People are falling sick because of Dauda Lawal’s inhumane decisions. These are human beings, not disposable tools,” he added.

The forum described the development as a humanitarian crisis caused by “recklessness and lack of empathy,” urging the Federal Government, labour unions, and civil rights groups to intervene urgently.

“Governor Dauda Lawal Dare has failed the basic test of humanity,” Marafa said. “Leadership is not about arrogance and oppression — it’s about responsibility and compassion. Zamfara deserves better than this heartless governance.”

The Zamfara Good Governance Forum reaffirmed its resolve to stand with the affected workers and defend the rights of the oppressed until justice and accountability are restored in the state.
