The Zamfara Good Governance Forum has raised fresh concerns over the security situation in Zamfara State, urging stronger leadership action and greater accountability in tackling violent attacks across communities.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its Chairman, Kabir Ibrahim Gusau, the group said residents were increasingly worried about persistent insecurity, which it noted had continued to affect farming activities and local economic life.

The forum said many communities still report attacks, while farmers remain hesitant to return to their fields for fear of violence. It added that families across parts of the state continue to live in uncertainty.

The group called on Governor Dauda Lawal to provide what it described as a clearly defined security roadmap, including measurable benchmarks and consistent public communication on efforts being made to address the crisis.

According to the statement, citizens are seeking more visible engagement and coordinated action from relevant authorities to restore confidence and strengthen safety across the state.

The forum also stressed the need for transparency and regular updates on security strategies, noting that public trust depends on open communication and demonstrable progress.

It maintained that governance should prioritise the protection of lives and property, adding that constructive criticism remains part of democratic accountability.
