Inuagurating the project, Yahaya said the event was part of activities lined up to mark his five years in office.

Yahaya said the park was designed with a 1,000 vehicles capacity, trailer park, fire service station, mechanic workshops and mosques.

The governor listed other facilities to include bathrooms, toilets, a clinic and a travellers lodge.

The Minister of Transport, Saidu Alkali, described the project as unprecedented, adding that it would improve the quality of transport services in the state.

The Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, lauded the governor for successful completion and inauguration of the project, adding that it would fasttrack sustainable social and economic development of the state.

Also speaking, Dankwambo thanked the governor for the gesture,  adding that, “what you did has demonstrated the sense of unity in Gombe State,” he said.

Dankwambo was represented by Malam Bello Abubakar.
