World Disability Day: Jigawa JONAPWD Advocate Implementation Of Disability Law

DUTSE—JOINT National Association of People With Disability ( JONAPWD) Jigawa state chapter has called on government at all levels and other stakeholders to support the implementation of ” Disability Law” for maximum social inclusion in the society.

The Chairman of JONAPWD Jigawa state chapter Hon Adamu Shuaibu Jigawar Tsada made the called while delivering his speech during the celebration of “International Day Of Person Living with Disability held in Dutse capital.

He explained that, People living with Disability need special consideration to enable them enjoy a good life , and also contribute their own quota for social and economic development of the society ”

Hon Jigawar Tsada maintained that, lack of proper support is what tendered thousands of people with disability to become public liabilities , not because they don’t have any portentiality to become productive and self reliant .

“The Disability Law has clearly captured the role of government and general public in supporting people living with Disability, and if implemented thousands of us will quit street begging and also become productive.

“So we are using this occasion to remind the authority concern and general public on the need to support the full implementation of the law for us to live indignity, respect and pride” the chairman stated.

He also called on the Persons living with Disability to remove all form of imperiorety complex and uphold self confidence for participating into all form of life struggle and competition in according to their ability, Disability is Not Inability ” he declared

During the occasion two papers were presented titled (1.) The Relevance of inclusion in Promoting Basic Education: Challenges and Way Forward
(2). Islamic perspective on Disability and Inclusion- Role of Community.
