A 28-year-old woman, Rukaiya Mohammed, has urged the Chief Magistrate Court No. 6 in Bauchi, to compel her neighbour, Ene Peter, to return her mobile phone.

Mohammed, a resident of the Superstar Hotel area of Bauchi metropolis, told the court that on Aug. 11, she gave the phone to Peter,  to charge in her room.

She said that the respondent collected the phone, plugged it to charge, and left the room after locking the door.

The complainant alleged that Peter could not produce the phone when she returned to pick it.

Mohammed said that only the phone’s screen guard and protective jacket were found in Peter’s room.

“She could not produce my phone, only the screen guard and phone jacket were found in the room.

“After I kept disturbing her to produce my phone, she bought a small one and gave me N2,000, to welcome back my SIM.

“I rejected the replaced phone, and insisted on getting back what I gave her to charge,” Mohammed said.

She therefore prayed the court to compel Peter to produce and return the phone.
In her response, Peter asked the complainant to present before the court evidence to prove her case.

The presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Abdulmumuni Adamu adjourned the case until Sept. 15, for hearing.
