For Barrister Nzenwo Nyesom Wike CON, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, the process of rebuilding the territory from social malaise and criminals cannot be overemphasized, but needed concerted efforts towards addressing the unmitigated acts, that had grown unabated particularly the influx of both legitimate and illegitimate business entities, individuals and people in the nation’s city.

Therefore, aside providing equipments, funding and logistic for the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies, policy statements was introduced to tackle the direct impact of criminals and criminal elements who had taken advantage of the influx into FCT to carry out their nefarious activities.

The recent introduction of joint patrol of both military and paramilitary personal across FCT had assisted to the barest minimum in raiding the hot spots of criminals and other contrived ones like “One Chance”, kidnapers, snatchers among many others that had terrorise the FCT and it’s environs.

The Multi Million Naira investment into the security situations of the FCT, creation of more police command around Gwagwalada, Kuje , Kwali among many other areas regarded as hot bed for criminals were they are resided and come into town to commit series of criminal activities, had reduced tremendously the negative effect of criminals .

Aside these axis , the frequent raiding of immediate neighbors of the nation’s city like residents of Karu, Nyanya, Maraba, Orozo , Jikwoyi , Wasa , and other areas through the setting up of special patrol force had led to series of discoveries and arrest of criminals and their abodes even with the FCT.

The joint patrol with the NSCDC, VIOs, Military, Navy , Air force, Police joint patrol had raided and arrested many hoodlums who often posed as carrying out legitimate activities but often involved in social malaise and vices, exposing people going about their normal and legitimate activities been exposed to series of criminal activities and many times killings of Innocent citizens.

With the coming of Nyesom Nzenwo Wike and the rejigging of security situations in the FCT , many criminals and other vices including individuals involved have been arrested, many stolen vehicles recovered from car snatchers and had reduced to the barest minimum frequent car thefts in the nation’s city and it’s environs.

The frequent and intermittent raiding had send packing individuals with criminal tendencies and jobless ones readily available to harass their unsuspecting victims, through snatching of their valuables and belongings .

With the new approach to security situations in the nation’s city and the area councils were most times served as their hideouts, the Nyesom Nzenwo Wike led FCT administration determination to rid the FCT of criminals is gradually paying , with rejigged and refocused security arrangements.

This is been assisted with the reintroduced day and night patrol of the joint task force against criminals and the arrest and raiding of classified areas, serving as criminal hideouts in the FCT by the current administration.

With sustained efforts and decisions, no doubt the activities of criminal elements within the nation’s city and area councils will be exterminated completely going forward.
