The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate demolition of illegal structures in the Sabon Lugbe South District Layout of the FCT.

Wike issued the directive during an unannounced visit to the site on Tuesday, accompanied by heads of various security agencies.

The minister condemned the construction of buildings without proper documentation from the FCT Administration, calling the developers “land grabbers” and stating that their actions violated land use regulations.

“These are land grabbers without documents, and we will not allow that,” Wike said. He emphasized that any buildings without approval from the Development Control Department would be demolished.

Wike directed the Director of the Department of Development Control, Town Planner Mukhtar Galadima, to coordinate with security agencies to carry out the demolition and recover the land. He also instructed the security forces to arrest anyone obstructing the exercise.
