Wike, alongside journalists, visited key stations like Wupa station near Idu and Bassanjiwa station near the airport, reiterating the commitment to commission the rail project on May 29 to commemorate President Bola Tinubu’s one year in office.

Emphasising the significance of creating access roads to ensure the community’s seamless use of the train, Wike acknowledged the dedication of contractors and affirmed the FCT Administration’s readiness in securing funds for project completion.

The minister also addressed concerns regarding security, assuring improved security measures in the territory.

Notably, Wike inspected the construction of a single lane expressway from Idu Industrial Layout to Zuba, explaining delays due to required permissions from the Federal Ministry of Transport.

Upon approval, the project is poised to progress swiftly, enhancing transportation infrastructure in Abuja.
