The Director of the Federal Capital Territory Directorate of Road Traffic Services, Dr. Abdul Lateef Bello, has congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Barrister Afam Osigwe.

He urged the new president to move the NBA forward on issues related to legal defense and representation in courts.

The FCT DRTS, though a traffic agency, has been collaborating with lawyers, particularly on litigation and matters requiring alternative dispute resolution, hence our interest in legal representation.

He said, “Every judge was once a lawyer, and both the bar and the bench share the same origin and background.”

“The bar plays crucial roles worldwide in upholding human rights, enhancing human dignity, and benefiting society.

“I wholeheartedly congratulate all Nigerian lawyers on another smooth election of a new president. The criminal justice administration in Nigeria can be strengthened for enhanced quick dispensation of justice with the continued support and cooperation of the bar and bench.”
