In a decisive move to combat terrorism and restore peace in the North East, troops from Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in collaboration with the Air Component, the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and local hunters, have apprehended multiple collaborators involved in supplying communication equipment, illicit drugs, IED materials, and arms to terrorists.

Major General Markus Kangye, the Director of Defence Media Operations, reported that between 15 and 22 July 2025, numerous terrorists were neutralised during ambushes, raids, and patrols targeting their hideouts.

On 19 July, troops intercepted Mallam Aminu Idris, who was found transporting unauthorised Starlink equipment at a checkpoint on the Kano–Maiduguri route, suspected of facilitating communication for terrorists. The same day, Mr. Ali Abba, a drug dealer, was arrested with large quantities of tramadol and diazepam while heading to Damasak.

Additional operations led to the recovery of small arms, ammunition, IED components, and other supplies. From 18 to 22 July, several ambushes disrupted planned terrorist infiltrations in Bama, Monguno, and Konduga.

On 15 July, troops intercepted terrorist logistics in Madagali LGA, recovering motorcycles, food supplies, and cement. The following day, seven suspected logistics suppliers were captured with a significant amount of supplies intended for insurgents.

On 17 July, during a patrol in Gwoza LGA, troops engaged terrorists, neutralising one and forcing others to flee. A successful night ambush by the 27 Task Force Brigade on 18 July led to the killing of a terrorist and the recovery of weapons.

Troops also intercepted smuggled PMS along Maiduguri–Mafa road and on 20 July seized IED-making materials in Madagali, thwarting an infiltration attempt in Monguno.

On 21 July, ten family members of terrorists surrendered in Bama LGA, seeking safety, while several collaborators, including a 15-year-old informant, were apprehended.

On 22 July, acting on credible intelligence, troops intercepted a logistics truck en route to Gamboru from Maiduguri, recovering solar equipment and various supplies.

The ongoing operations by OPHK have significantly disrupted Boko Haram and ISWAP’s logistics networks, denying them critical resources and weakening their operational capabilities across the region. The Armed Forces of Nigeria commend the bravery of the troops and reaffirm their commitment to restoring lasting peace and security.
