The funeral service was attended by numerous family members, friends, colleagues in the media industry, and well-wishers who came together to pay their final respects to this remarkable media figure. Jacob Zango, who succumbed to a brief illness on August 14, 2024, at Kafanchan General Hospital, left behind a significant impact in the world of journalism.

As part of the burial rites, a service of songs was held in his hometown, drawing attendees from across the state who wished to celebrate his life. During the funeral service, attendees were encouraged to share their memories and testimonies about Zango, with notable contributions from Comrade Asma’u Yawo Halilu, the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna Council.

Pastor Makurvet Dawuda, who officiated the burial, reminded everyone of the importance of reflecting on life beyond death, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the moment.

Jacob Haruna Zango was born on April 17, 1968, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Zango Bwayin Kura in Abuyab. His contributions to journalism will be remembered as a vital part of Kaduna’s media landscape, inspiring future generations of journalists.
