In a heart-wrenching announcement, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, has sadly passed away. She departed on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at an undisclosed hospital, surrounded by her loving family after a period of illness.

The news was conveyed in an official statement by Mr. Ini Ememobong, the Commissioner for Information, who also shared the family’s request for privacy during this difficult time as they grieve the loss of their cherished wife and mother.

Governor Umo Eno expressed his deep sorrow while reassuring the people of Akwa Ibom of his steadfast dedication to serving the state amidst this personal tragedy.

The statement highlighted, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, following an illness. She peacefully transitioned at the hospital on September 26, 2024, surrounded by her family.”

The family has entrusted their grief to the will of the Almighty and encourages the support and prayers of the community during this trying time. They will provide further updates as necessary, while respectfully asking for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved matriarch.

Governor Umo Eno expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported the first family during this period and reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Akwa Ibom, stating that despite this immense personal loss, his dedication to the state remains unwavering.
