Tony Tetuila, Ex-Remedies’ Manager Trade Words During IG Live

Published

on

Tony Tetuila, the Nigerian singer, and Gbenga Awe, the former manager of The Remedies, have engaged in a heated war of words on social media.

The confrontation followed after Eedris Abdulkareem spoke on the founding members of The Remedies.

On a recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, Eedris claimed he and Eddy Remedy founded the now-defunct group.

He said Tetuila later joined the group after they met him at a show in Ilorin, Kwara state, adding that he was “desperate to sing”.

In his reaction, Tetuila said he was “highly disappointed” in Eedris for “spewing lies” about the whole incident.

In an Instagram live video with Daddy Freeze, Tetuila also shared his side of the story about The Remedies.

The singer claimed despite the financial support from him, the former music manager sidelined and mistreated him during his time with the group.

“No matter how this life is Mr Gbenga Awe, always remember that you are a family man and you have kids. If you lie, God will judge you. You know I did not mention what you did to me when we were on a group tour because you believed I could never be somebody,” he said.

“That is why I had to come to this live and face you directly. You believed I could never be somebody but God surprised you guys. I am above you all, I don pass this level. If you are here to lie, God will judge you Mr Gbenga Awe.

“I thought you would have changed but you have not. I will tell the world what you did then, my witness is Gboyega Sotunde, the PRO of The Remedies, was I not feeding every one of you when you people no longer had any money after we got to one state during the tour and you promised to pay me back? Say the truth and let the devil be ashamed, there is no need to lie.”

Gbenga, however, fired back at the singer, saying he was lying. He claimed he never benefitted financially from Tetuila.

“It is a lie. Tony are you in your dreams? That you sponsored us at Rodman’s group or what are you saying?” he asked.

“Probably it was Eedris and Eddy that you were giving money but definitely not me. I would not get involved in this with you, I am way above this.”
