President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Friday deliver a nationwide broadcast to commemorate Democracy Day, reaffirming the significance of democratic governance in Nigeria.

The Presidency disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, the national address is scheduled to be transmitted at 7:00 a.m. through the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria.

The Presidency directed all television and radio stations across the country to hook onto the NTA and Radio Nigeria networks to relay the President’s broadcast to Nigerians.

Although details of the expected address were not disclosed, Democracy Day speeches traditionally provide an opportunity for the President to reflect on the nation’s democratic journey, outline government priorities and speak on issues of national importance.

The annual observance honours Nigeria’s democratic experience and serves as a reminder of the country’s commitment to constitutional rule and the will of the people. :::
