President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday reversed the transfer of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) out of the Office of the Vice President by his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari had transferred supervision of NEMA from the Office of the Vice President to the then newly created Ministry Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development headed by Hajiyya Sadiyya Farouq.
However, in a statement on Tuesday evening, Tinubu ordered the return of NEMA to the Office of the Vice President for supervision in compliance with its establishment Act.
Mr Olusola Abiola, Director, Information, Office of the Vice President, disclosed this in a statement.
He said Tinubu also approved the return of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to the Office of the Vice President.
Moreso, Tinubu approved a formal structure for the Office of the Vice President as well as an appropriate number of technical and administrative aides that would work with the vice president in the discharge of his responsibilities.
