LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident occured during a clash between thugs hired by two leading political parties in the community.

The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react to the ugly development.

Meanwhile, low turnout of voters on Saturday greeted the Governorship and House of Assembly election in parts of Rivers State.

LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered that worst hit by the low turnout are Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas of the state.

The low turnout may not be unconnected with the outcome of the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly, which several residents of the state alleged that it was rigged in favour of a particular political party.

Our Correspondent who visited several polling units especially those in the rural areas of the state, observed that there was absence of security operatives in most polling units.

It was observed that there only one police personnel in each of the polling units in Emohua local government area while there was none in all the units in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area.
