Air Peace has confirmed a disruption to its Lagos–London Gatwick service after engineers discovered a technical fault during a routine post-boarding check.

In a statement issued via its official X handle, the airline said the issue was identified after passengers had already boarded the aircraft. The plane was immediately withdrawn from service in line with safety protocols.

“Following the completion of passenger boarding, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention,” Air Peace stated.

All passengers were safely disembarked while engineers assessed and addressed the fault. The airline emphasised that passenger safety remains its overriding priority, and the decision to suspend the flight—though inconvenient—was necessary.

“At Air Peace, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew will always take precedence over operational schedules,” the statement read. “Taking swift preventive action was the responsible and necessary decision.”

Affected travellers were promptly notified and provided with hotel accommodation and additional support services. Air Peace added that a replacement aircraft would be deployed from London to operate the delayed service.

“To minimise further disruption, a replacement aircraft from London will be dispatched, and passengers are scheduled to depart this morning,” the airline said.

Air Peace reassured customers of its commitment to safe and reliable operations, thanking them for their patience and understanding.

“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation shown by our passengers during this period. Their trust remains incredibly important to us,” the statement added.
