The Chairman of the Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP), Isaac Abrak, has said the newly signed tax reforms in Nigeria must translate into real improvements in the lives of citizens across the country.
Speaking in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, Abrak welcomed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s signing of the Tax Reform Bill, describing it as a significant step towards economic renewal.
He, however, emphasised that the true measure of success would be in how effectively the reforms enhance livelihoods and drive inclusive development.
“The real success of this reform will be measured by how well it delivers on the promises made—by improving lives and livelihoods across all parts of the country,” he said.
The NCYP commended the efforts of the National Assembly, state governors, and the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform Committee for their roles in the passage of the bill.
Abrak highlighted that the law lays a strong foundation for economic growth by streamlining tax processes, expanding the tax base, and promoting a more business-friendly environment.
ELANZA NEWS reports that The bill-signing ceremony, was witnessed by top government officials including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and finance committee chairpersons from both chambers.
