The Kaduna-South Senator, Bar. Sunday Marshall Katung has in less than 100 days in office achieved a remarkable feat, especially in a critical sector of the economy and education in line with his campaign promises to birth a new path for the region regardless of political leanings.

Success is not sold but it is accomplished based on transparency, competency, and hard work. And no doubt, Southern Kaduna people have a Senator who is working for their interest.

He holds a good vision and hope for his people. His ambition is to facilitate better change for his people and his 100 days in office are already convincing.

The Senator within his 100 days in office, in a bid to encourage the education of his people, has recently awarded scholarships to over 200 Students across the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone.

His thirst for education caused him to propose the establishment of a Federal University of Applied Sciences in Manchok.

Since 2014, before he was elected as the Kaduna-South Senator, he had been awarding scholarships to different tertiary students quietly.

Katung had also during the inauguration scholarship and lecture held in Kafanchan, pledged to turn the region into a hub of skill acquisition center to create a window opportunity to help uplift the standard of living of his people.

The activities that have taken place within the period are evidence that the Senator is prepared to revitalize the region’s economy and educational sector.

In his quest to boost the region’s economy and reduce poverty, the Senator has within his 100 days also secured approval to build a 300-capacity women and youth training center in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in Kafanchan to equip them with essential digital skills.

He has taken a bold step to seek military action against terrorists who have ceaselessly killed his people and created fear and trauma for the families of victims.

The Southern Kaduna region has over the years experienced brutal attacks, ceaseless killings, marginalization, and exclusion, so, it requires a visionary leader, who is dogged, smart, and intelligent to explore the opportunities therein.

Worried over the diphtheria disease that killed some persons in his region, he raised a motion on the floor of the Senate to advocate for modalities to ensure public safety.

He also launched an online app called (SMK Get Involve) for effective representation.

He explained that the app was designed to track his activities and listen to complaints, and suggestions directly from his constituents for effective communication.

“The app will bridge the gap between me and my constituents by ensuring an effective two-way grassroots community communication system.

” The app would help showcase my activities and developmental strides at the Red Chambers.

He has also facilitated job opportunities for young individuals.

Southern Kaduna is lucky to have a man who is eloquent, a rookie politician, experienced in legislative business, has high-powered connections, and a network within and outside the country.

As an educated, civilized, and morally oriented seasoned lawmaker with the requisite experience strength of character focus, and determination to protect the interest of his people and deliver dividends of democracy.
