Sokoto ES Gives Free JAMB Forms To 3 Exceptional Public School’s Female Students’

Sokoto State Executive Secretary (ES) Female Education Board, Professor Mustapha Tukur Namaka has happily donated JAMB Forms to 3 exceptionally interlegent female students from public schools in the state .

Prof Namaka who expressed satisfaction with the presentations of the female students, during the 3 days workshop organized by STCI in collaboration with AGILE to develop and validate Life Skills Manual, added that, there is always a reward for hard work.

While urging them to sustain the tempo, the female Education Executive Secretary, Prof. Namaka re-affirmed that the Sokoto State government will continue to give priority to education as shown by the allocation of 25 percent of the state 2025 budget.

The benefiting exceptional female students include, Shamau Zayyanu, and Maimuma Mahmud Yusuf both from SSS 2 and 3 Nana Girls Secondary School as well as Fatima Muhammad Aliyu who is in SSS 2 from Government Girls Day Secondary School, Kofar Marke

Reacting to the gesture on behalf of the benefiting adolescent girls, Shamau Zayyanu said they lack worlds to register their appreciation, adding all they could say prayers for the Executive Secretary and the State Government that is ensuring free education for all.

Giving their perspective earlier during the harmonization of the Life Skills Manual, Shamau and Fatima listed some of the barriers to female education in the state to include, cultural background, gender stereotypes, sex, low self esteem, social status, fears of stigma, dominance of male teachers in the system, fears of mistakes, and teachers attitude towards them.

Other according to them are, language barrier, unclear message, lack of confidence, insecurity, distance, family upbringing, environmental influence as well as lack of role models and emotional cum phycological challenges.

Suggesting things to be included in the Life Skills manual, both Shamau and Fatima listed self confidence principles, goal setting, progress tacking principle, courage development mantality as well as positive mindset formula.

They listed others to include, how to appreciate their uniqueness, build courage, improve communication, self esteem, and having a positive role model.
