Sokoto boat mishap: Wamakko condoles with bereaved families

Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North) has condoled with the families of the victims involved in the tragic boat mishap that occurred at Dundaye village,  Wamakko Local Government Area of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the unfortunate incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday claimed several lives.

Wamakko, in a statement issued on Monday by his media aide, Bashar Abubakar, expressed shock and sorrow upon receiving the devastating news.

He described the accident as a tragic event but said that it was the will of the Almighty God.

“Let me convey my heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and urge them to find solace in their faith during this difficult time,” he said.

The lawmaker emphasised the importance of taking extra precautions when crossing the river, particularly during the current season when the water levels were dangerously high.

Wamakko also highlighted the need for increased safety measures and awareness to prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents.

He called on the local authorities and residents to work together to ensure that necessary precautions were taken, especially when using canoes and boats on the river.

Wamakko offered prayers for the souls of the deceased, asking Allah the Almighty to grant them eternal rest and forgive their sins.

He also prayed for the swift recovery of those who survived the mishap, urging the community to support one another during this period of grief. (NAN
