In response to the distressing Galadimawa kidnapping incident, the Senate has urged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to thoroughly investigate the execution of the substantial £500 million contract designated for the installation of CCTV cameras in the Federal Capital Territory.

Spearheaded by Senator Ned Nwoko (PDP-Delta), the motion at the heart of this investigation stems from a genuine concern for the security lapses witnessed in the Galadimawa area.

Senator Nwoko, in his lead debate, voiced apprehension about the recent incident, which saw 19 individuals, including his senior legislative aide, Mr. Chris Agidy, forcefully abducted from their homes.

Responding promptly to the unfolding crisis, Senator Nwoko detailed the swift actions taken, including his direct contact with the Commissioner of Police.

This interaction led to the activation of the OC Anti-Kidnapping team, demonstrating a collaborative effort to secure the release of the abducted individuals.
