Sallah: Philanthropist Distributes One Trailer Of Rice, Rams To Muslims In Kaduna

Abuja based Chief Executive Officer and a Philanthropist of Kaduna State extraction, Engr. Michael Ayuba Auta has shared hundreds of bags of rice, rams and cows to both Muslims and Christians in Kaduna to mark the Eid el Kabir celebration in the State.

Mr. Auta, through his Personal Assistant, Hon. Mai Saje said the gesture was done to cushion the effects of the current economic situation of the country.

“As part of his continued efforts to cushion the effects of hunger in the region, the philanthropist distributed food items to residents of Kaduna State.

“The gesture came at a time Muslim faithful are celebrating this year’s Eid-El-Kabir.

“According to him he was not unaware of the fact that the economic situation of the country has been eating deep into our people’s pocket, thereby making life difficult for some families to feed, I will continue to reach out to the less privileged in the society”.

He said the gesture was to enable the poor in the state celebrate the festival with members of their families.

Also, some of the local government coordinators of the Kaduna State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Isa Ashiru’s transformation Movement collected the Sallah gifts.

Mr. Auta who is the Managing Director of KYC Holding Company has urged Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Faithful to use the period of Eid el kabir to reflect on the situations in Kaduna State and the country and pray fervently for its survival.

He noted that the situation in the country was dicey and challenging which require God’s intervention to surmount the situation.

The philanthropist said, “The APC administration has failed Nigerians woefully in harnessing its abundant human and material resources and has instead resorted to various undemocratic economic policies that affect the downtrodden.

“The security situation in the country, the uncertainty in the polity, and the worsening economic downturn which are consequences of poor leadership entails that Nigerians should return to God for help and direction.

“The current insecurity in the country has produced severe and adverse effects on agriculture and prevented farmers from accessing their farms by terrorists.

“Nigerians must remain united and steadfast at all times to be able to face the challenges confronting the country”.

Mr. Auta urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for the success of the ongoing war against kidnapping, banditry, terrorism in the country.

He lamented that, “this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration is coming at a period the country is grappling with security and other socio-economic challenges, and so the people must be security conscious and report any act of breach of law and order capable of threatening the prevailing peace in the State to the relevant authorities”. Another Explosion Hits Oil Facility In Rivers, Protesters Block East-West Road

Another explosion occurred at a pipeline manifold in the Omwawriwa area of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State on Tuesday.

This incident follows a similar explosion that shook the Trans Niger Pipeline, operated by Shell, in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area just hours earlier.

The latest explosion reportedly took place at a manifold connected to a federal pipeline deep within the forest, which transports crude oil to Brass in Bayelsa State.

While the explosion has not yet been officially confirmed, community sources reported seeing massive flames and thick smoke rising from the oil installation in the forest.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, stated that she would investigate the incident but had not provided a response at the time of this report.

A video obtained by our correspondent displays a large fire burning in a remote location.

In a separate development, Ijaw youths blocked the Ahoada section of the East-West Road leading to Bayelsa State on Tuesday in protest.

The demonstrators, numbering over 100, carried placards in solidarity with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid his political dispute with the state House of Assembly. Some of the placards read: “We demand Wike’s dismissal as FCT Minister” and “Martin Amaewhule and 26 lawmakers have defected and lost their seats.

BREAKING: Reps pass tax reform bills

The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the four tax reform bills transmitted to the National Assembly in October 2024 by President Bola Tinubu.

Recall that the House had on Thursday last week, considered and approved the report of the House Committee on Finance which made some recommendations, particularly in controversial areas such as the Value Added Tax and inheritance tax.

While awaiting the Senate to similarly pass the bills, the proposed reforms are expected to be transmitted to the President for his assent in the days ahead.

Two PDP reps defect to APC over ‘internal divisions’

Two members of the house of representatives have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house, announced the defections in a letter read on the floor of the lower legislative chamber on Tuesday.
